Claims about which fruit is "healthiest" skip the part that actually affects a shipment: when in the year it was harvested. For Iranian dates, that's a bigger factor in quality than any generic health claim.
Harvest windows differ by variety
Mazafati and Piarom come off the tree in a narrower window than Mabroom or Zahedi, and each has a different best-buy period. Ordering close to a variety's own harvest window gets fresher stock at a better price than ordering it months later, regardless of what claims are attached to the listing.
Off-season stock isn't lower quality, but it is different
A batch held in cold storage for months after harvest firms up and the sugars concentrate further compared to a batch bought closer to harvest. That's not a defect — some buyers actually prefer the firmer, more concentrated stage — but it's a different product, and a listing that doesn't say which stage you're getting is leaving out the detail that matters most.
What to ask before ordering
Ask for the harvest date and how long the batch has been in storage, not just the variety name. That tells a buyer more about what's arriving than any general fruit-health claim would.
